Ruth Halsey
Community LGB Member
I retired from teaching in July 2016, since then I have been a volunteer at school and have become a Community Governor. I have worked as a teacher most of my adult life in primary, secondary and special schools within Lancashire and Cumbria.
During my career I taught Maths and specialised in working with pupils who have emotional, behavioural and social difficulties. I believe learning is a lidelong process and this led me to train as a counsellor and study a masters degree in Education to enhance my own practice.
I have lived in Ambleside for over 30 years and love being a part of this community. I am passionate about giving the best education and opportunities to every child and hope that, as a governor, I can work with and support the staff to this end.
